Fine art nudes are my favorite! I am confident with my body and not afraid to try weird things in the name of art. I am more concerned with creating striking photographs than looking pretty. I love all things weird, dark, macabre, and I think that shows in my most revealing images.
"To photograph people is to violate them, by seeing them as they never see themselves, by having knowledge of them that they can never have; it turns people into objects that can be symbolically possessed. Just as a camera is a sublimation of the gun, to photograph someone is a subliminal murder - a soft murder, appropriate to a sad, frightened time."
- Susan Sontag, On Photography
"A picture is a secret about a secret, the more it tells you the less you know."
- Diane Arbus
"I would never understand photography, the sneaky, murderous taxidermy of it."
- Lorrie Moore, Anagrams
"There is in fact something obscene and sinister about photography, a desire to imprison, to incorporate, a sexual intensity of pursuit."
- William S. Burroughs
"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence."
- Ansel Adams
"You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved."
- Ansel Adams
"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."
- Susan Sontag
"Photography is a reality so subtle that it becomes more real than reality."
- Alfred Stieglitz
"Pictures put you in front of a reality that most of the times you don't want to see, don't want to know about, don't want to get involved."
- Oliviero Toscani
"Don't we all know that art is dangerous. You play it - then you live it."
- Stefan Balint
"The brightest light makes the blackest mark."
- Henry Holmes Smith
